New Entry GPA Requirement
Incoming Freshmen:
- No requirements.
- GPAs will be assessed at the end of the fall semester.
New Members (non first semester Freshmen), Retained Members:
- Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA to be in “good standing”.
- If a student wishes to enter the IMAGE Program in the fall with less than a 2.5 cumulative GPA, they must achieve a 3.0 at the end of that current semester. If the 3.0 GPA is achieved, then the student will be in “good standing.” If 3.0 GPA is not achieved in the semester of entry, that student will be placed on probation. While on probation the student will have one more opportunity to get a 3.0 GPA in the next semester.
New Major Qualifications
Students must be pursuing a four (4) year degree in either a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field. For double majors with a STEM/non STEM degree, schedules have to justify both majors. If any student decides to change their major, the LSMAMP office should be notified immediately.
Eligible Majors:
- Biology
- Biochemistry
- Chemistry
- Geology
- Physics
- Astronomy
- Computer Science
- Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, General, Geological, Mechanical)
- Mathematics
Note that pre-professional programs are not four-year programs. Therefore, students with the following majors, minors, or emphasis areas do not qualify for MAMP Scholarships: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pre-Pharmacy, etc. However, they may take advantage of some of the benefits and other opportunities that IMAGE has to offer.
