Boot Camp for Engineering Students is an opportunity for incoming UM Engineering freshmen to come to the Ole Miss campus during the second summer session and enroll in coursework that will provide students with more insight into engineering as a career. This experience will provide students with the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge in mathematics and also acquire the proper study skills necessary for success as an engineering student.
Through this program students will be enrolled in 6 hours of credit in Math 125 and ENGR 100. The Math 125 course will provide students with instruction in the fundamentals of trigonometry and pre-calculus. The Introduction to Engineering course (ENGR 100) will allow students to further explore and experience the profession of engineering by taking fieldtrips, conducting team design activities, and learn basic knowledge and skills that are essential to successful engineering studies.
In addition to coursework, students will meet faculty, make new friends, and connect to Ole Miss before the rest of the freshmen class arrives on campus for the fall 2012 semester. The program includes activities and experiences that encourage students to interact with one another while learning to manage the independence of college life.
The LSMAMP program will render support for under-represented students in the engineering field. For more information Click here.
